5 French Bread Recipes

BREAD.jpg

Using A to Z Ingredients I made 5 different French bread recipes. We all have leftover ingredients that we don’t know what to do with. Instead of throwing the ingredients away use them to make new recipes. This will allow you to offer your customers more of a choice and will help you to reduce your waste.

These recipes are easy to follow and can be eaten on the go! This can help you keep up with food on the move trends.

1. Simple Baguette Sandwiches

EGG AND BACON

Eggs: are full of nutrients, antioxidants and are high in protein. Eggs can be surprisingly filling; there is also research which shows that people who eat eggs for breakfast may consume fewer calories throughout the day!

Bacon: is loved by many and has been proven to lift your mood.

2. Inside Egg Baguette

A light, quick and easy breakfast

INGREDIENTS

135g Baked Baguette
1 Medium Egg
1 Slice of Bacon

METHOD

First Step: Cut your baguette into small slices (2 inches thick). Take one of the slices and remove the bread inside.

Second Step: Our next step is to prepare the bacon. Cut your bacon into small pieces. Pour the cooking oil into the frying pain and use a medium heat. Add your chopped bacon to the pan and ensure that you keep turning.

Third Step: Whilst your bacon is cooking, in a separate frying pan add some more oil and place the baguette in the centre. Crack an egg and pour it into the hole of the baguette. Make sure that you press the baguette firmly with your fingers to prevent the egg white from seeping out underneath the bread. Add salt and pepper on top of the egg and even some onion powder for a stronger taste.

Fourth Step: Ensure that the bacon is cooked and looks crispy and delicious. Place the bacon onto some kitchen roll so that you are able to drain any excess fat.

Fifth Step: After 3 minutes turn the heat down to a light flame. Then it’s time to flip over the baguette so we can evenly cook both sides. I used a spoon to help ensure that no egg would fall out during this process. Then cook for another 3 minutes or until the egg is cooked to your liking. I kept the egg pictured above cooking for overall around 6 minutes.
